Analytics

Track document views, sessions, and viewer engagement in detail.

Analytics

PrivyDocs provides detailed analytics to help you understand how your documents are being accessed and viewed. Track views, sessions, and engagement at every level — from your entire account down to individual share links.

Analytics Page

Navigate to the dedicated Analytics page from the sidebar for the full analytics experience. This page provides the same powerful analytics as the dashboard, with additional space and filtering options.

Filtering Options

The analytics system supports multiple filtering dimensions that you can combine:

By Workspace

Select a workspace to view combined analytics across all its documents and share links. When filtering by workspace, you can further narrow by:

  • Documents tab — View per-document statistics within the workspace.
  • Links tab — View per-link statistics within the workspace.

By Document

Select a specific document to view its analytics in isolation, including all share links for that document.

Drill down to a single share link to see exactly how it's performing — view count, unique viewers, and session timeline.

View analytics for a specific workspace-level share link.

By User Sessions

Filter by a viewer's email address to see all their sessions across your documents.

Date Range

Set a custom date range using start and end date pickers to analyze activity within a specific time window.

Aggregated Statistics

When viewing analytics at any level, you'll see aggregated statistics including:

  • Total Views — The total number of viewing sessions.
  • Unique Viewers — The number of distinct viewers.
  • Average Time — Average viewing duration per session.
  • Page-Level Analytics — Which pages were viewed most frequently.

Session Details

Click on an individual session to inspect it in detail:

  • Viewer identification — Email, name, WhatsApp number, or IP address depending on the link's access requirements.
  • Session timestamp — When the viewing session started.
  • Duration — Total time spent viewing the document.
  • Pages accessed — Which pages were viewed and time spent on each.
  • Device information — Browser, operating system, and device type.
  • Location data — Approximate geographic location (when available).
